Expectations of Believers
  • Practice grace giving - this means that your motivation to give flows out of love and gratefulness to God, not guilt or duty. "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:2
  • View giving as an act of worship, an act of obedience and an expression of faith.
  • Practice consistent, percentage giving - this means prayerfully pick a percentage of your income you’re willing to give and consistently give that amount. Then, on a yearly basis, prayerfully review what that percentage should be for the following year. The tithe (10% of gross income) is a minimum guideline established in scripture. You may be called to more than this level of giving.
  • Be creative in your giving. Stewardship doesn't just include giving money; believers can and should give of their time and talents in addition to money.
  • Giving should reflect your gratitude and is a faith-based, personal decision.
  • Giving should demonstrate your commitment to God and BCC.
