Membership at Browncroft

God never intended that the walk of faith should be a walk alone. His followers are to walk in authentic community with one another. Taking the step to become a member at Browncroft shows that you are committed to grow these relationships and deepen your connection to the local body of Christ. As a member of Browncroft, you have a voice in decision-making and election of leaders, and are eligible to join the leadership team upon nomination and selection.

The Browncroft Membership Process:

Membership Application As a first step toward membership, prospective members who have a growing faith relationship with Jesus and have been attending Browncroft for at least 6 months are asked to complete a basic online application. This application provides the membership team with biographical information and a basic understanding of God’s redemptive work in his or her life. Once the application is submitted it is reviewed by the Equipping Pastor and the membership team. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis.  Pending review of this application, the applicant may be extended an invitation to attend a membership class. Anyone interested in membership at Browncroft is invited to pick up a membership guide at the Info Desk. We encourage all prospective members to begin working through this guide as it provides an introduction to the life and ministry of Browncroft.

Membership Class Prospective members are asked to pick up a membership guide, if they have not already done so, at the Info Desk. After completing this guide, one next attends our interactive workshop that explores Browncroft's commitments to our vision, to Christ, to service and to one another.

Elder Recommendation At a regularly scheduled elders’ meeting, the pastor will review the applicant’s testimony with the other elders. Upon receiving their collective approval, the candidate is accepted for membership.

Congregational Affirmation Following elder approval, new members are welcomed by the congregation during a special Sunday morning worship service.
