Discovery Preschool

Philosophy & Program
The Browncroft Discovery Preschool is committed to providing a warm, loving, Christian environment that offers security as well as stimulation and challenge to aid in the total development of the young child. In this environment, each child can grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, creatively and spiritually.

The program is designed to help children develop self-realization, positive feelings of self-worth and knowledge of the world around them through exploration, experimentation, play, and well planned activities in a relaxed environment. Monthly program outlines and newsletters keep parents fully informed of school activities.

Parent Involvement
We recognize that parents hold the primary responsibility for their child’s educational experience. Therefore, we encourage parents to keep in close contact with the school and its teachers. Parental involvement is encouraged by:

  • Parent orientation meeting in September
  • Monthly newsletters and program outlines
  • Parent-teach(er) conferences during the school year
  • Special parent and family events are held throughout the school year
  • Parents are also encouraged to visit the classroom, drive with us on field trips, and help with special projects.

Facilities
The Browncroft Discovery Preschool is located in the education wing of the church facility.  The area was designed and furnished for preschool children with adequate space for group or individual activities and play equipment.

There is a full size indoor gym and a large outdoor play area near the Preschool rooms. The classrooms are serviced by a fire alarm system, smoke detectors, and a telephone.
