Week 8 : Tim Chase

Hello, my name in Tim Chase. My wife, Kim, and I have been married for 16 years and we have two very active boys, Nathan (12) and Adam (9). I’m originally from Clymer, NY (near Jamestown) and Kim grew up not far from here in Ontario, NY. I’m employed with the US Department of Defense as a Supervisory Auditor. We’ve been attending Browncroft for nearly two years.

1 Samuel 10:17-27
Proverbs 12:16
Week 8 : Day 5

by Tim Chase

In the conclusion of this story, Samuel brings Saul to the people and announces him to them. Immediately people see that Saul is different. The people appear to have no faith and just want the leader to take care of them so that they can enjoy their lives and be like the other nations. by Tim Chase

Keeping in mind that we are not to fully see all of this from above but are to trust that if we listen to Godly people, and learn to listen to God in our own thoughts, then God will bring us to the next place he has for us, even when it doesn’t seem like the right place for us. That’s because we couldn’t and wouldn’t think it possible without his intervention.

Now as we saw in the passage yesterday God is telling Samuel to do his job faithfully and God will help him provide a leader the people want. However, the new leader will be a faithful man of God leader.

1 Samuel 8:1-22 Week 8 : Day 1

by Tim Chase

When I first read this passage and the situation with Samuel that God is addressing, the first thing that comes to my mind is the similarity we see around us everyday where people are putting all of the their hope and faith in other people instead of in God.
