Thanks for joining me on this journey. One way I connect best with God and his Word is while running or exercising. So, come with me now and see where God leads us today.
Remember yesterday when we discovered God to be the ultimate friend? Well, one of the most painful, yet needed roles of a true friend is to provide feedback, particularly when we’re being arrogant or think we know it all. David’s trusted supporter, Joab questions David’s order, but David overrules. How many times have we had people in our lives question our judgment or plans, but we plow ahead anyway? It wasn’t until after the order was completed, 9 months later, that David recognized his arrogance and asked God for forgiveness. What were God’s feedback & the results? 70,000 people died! Wow, pretty high price for 1 decision!
What’s the price of our arrogance and prideful action? Is it merely a cost to us, our careers, and our egos? Or is it deeper and wider? What about the cost to our families? Or to those who depend on us to make sound decisions and choices? The results of an arrogant decision can be very far reaching. Yet, even in our arrogance, God is faithful and brings an end to the trouble when we humbly seek Him. Let’s set aside our pride, arrogant use of power, and consider the effects of our choices and plans on others. Today, let’s be humble and recognize God’s power in our lives.
Your fellow traveler,
Cheryl G.
