Thanks for joining me on this journey. One way I connect best with God and his Word is while running or exercising. So, come with me now and see where God leads us.
We saw the cost of arrogance yesterday, but what about the cost of forgiveness? David got it right this time, he recognized that even though he was the King and had the power to take or demand any thing in the kingdom, he chose to humbly pay the cost of his sacrifice himself. He recognized the money he was paying wouldn’t bring back the lives of those who died because of his arrogance, but it would show that he was willing to take responsibility for his actions and do the right thing.
How often are we willing to do that? God is right there all the time waiting for us to drop the pride, ask for forgiveness, take responsibility and move on. He has promised to give us the strength and power to do it! So what’s holding us back? Why hang on to the guilt or refuse to face our arrogance? Through forgiveness we can experience the power of God’s love. Thankfully, we don’t need to make sacrifices in the same way David did. (I’m not sure where I would find a threshing floor these days.) God through Christ graciously offers us forgiveness if we humbly ask. Let’s talk with God right now. What’s holding you back?
Your fellow traveler,
Cheryl G.
