Have you ever been blown away by something God has done? To me, that would be a perfect synopsis for our reading today: Solomon was blown away by God and what He had done, giving them the ability to rebuild the temple. It was a long time coming, but God was faithful and Solomon was blown away. And then they had a fourteen day long party to celebrate, which I think is pretty cool too.

Sometimes God blows us away and sometimes He just shows up quietly, in the little things. Sometimes I get so wrapped up with the clutter and chaos of life that I don’t take time to celebrate all the things God has blown me away with, big and small. I think of beautiful places I’ve seen and how I’ve just stood there speechless at the brilliance of God’s creation, or healthy babies being born, grandparents 50 year anniversaries, friends and family coming to faith in Jesus Christ, family members having victory over addiction, or cured illnesses, being able to walk and run, answered prayers, a job, food on my table, clothes on my back. Sometimes I take these things for granted. Why not take time throughout your day to be blown away by God and His faithfulness? Maybe we can’t have a two week long party like Solomon and the Israelites, but maybe a fist pump or at least a “Thank You God” would do just fine.
