2 Kings 1:1-18 Week 35 : Day 3

by Ed Hanchett

When God sends a message, we better be listening.

How often do we stop and seek God’s guidance when we are facing a situation or need to make a decision? Many of us may have a “prayer scale” on which we weigh the situation and determine what is heavy enough for us to seek God’s input, or what we deem to be light enough that we can handle on our own. For those lighter things, it’s easy to look within ourselves or to the resources at our avail, expecting that we can define and control the outcome through our own will or influence. Yet God is the God of all things – regardless of size or our perception of magnitude. God wants us to come to Him, to seek His guidance in all things. When we shut God out or pick and choose what we seek His guidance for, we set ourselves up for disappointment and failure. God wants us to seek Him first in all things, for nothing is too great or too trivial for Him.

Your fellow traveler,
Ed
