What a blessing is the love of a strong and faithful friendship.

Many of us struggle with embracing a relationship that is spiritual in nature, because we cannot see or touch the physical presence of God. Yet God desires that we find communion with Him, that we engage in relationship with Him. Fortunately, as one’s knowledge and awareness of God matures, it does become easier to recognize the characteristics and nature of God through a relational perspective.

Yet God knows our human limitations and provides us with opportunities to engage one another in relationship, allowing us to experience the joy of intimacy offered through friendship and companionship. Such relationships, perhaps few in number throughout a lifetime, are a source of comfort, encouragement, acceptance, confidence, and security, and are truly one of the greatest treasures and wonderful blessings God may bestow upon us.
