We have all experienced a rebuke. “What do you think you’re doing?” “Who gave you permission?” “Why are you doing it that way?” How dare you!”

The King’s reply is startling. It is the opposite of where the last chapter ended. We have received your correspondence: Now get out of the way! And stay away! Don’t interfere!

But it goes on. Use whatever money it takes. Don’t fail to provide what is needed. Look closely…the command about what to provide is not about beams or plywood or plaster…it is about all that is needed for sacrifice to the Lord. Remarkable!

If anyone gets in the way, let them be impaled on a beam. Remarkable!

Not only had the Lord broken through the deterrent. God specializes in the least expended response. When we can’t see where He is going, He plows through the insurmountable problem. He delights in doing that, because we see something special when we see what only can come from Him!
