I want to remind you all that this Sunday we are having a special congregational meeting to vote on a key position on our church staff.
This has been a long search but one I feel has yielded a great candidate who is uniquely gifted to serve at this time in the life of our church.
Mark Fortney has a unique combination of experience and education for the role of Executive Pastor. The primary responsibilities of this role are to assist key leaders and ministries in helping to realize the church's vision and increase their reach and effectiveness. He will also be a leader of leaders to our staff and help me, as the Senior Pastor, stay focused on the most important responsibilities of my role.
A Dallas Seminary graduate like myself, Mark also has a strong commitment to the Scriptures and a passion to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am very excited about Mark and look forward to presenting him to for you this Sunday.
I am asking you to make the time this Sunday to attend this meeting (I will also briefly introduce Mark in all the services). It will be at 12:30, shortly after the conclusion of the 11 o'clock service. This will be our only agenda item and I expect the meeting will be an efficient one.
Please be in prayer for this meeting and for God's leadership in bringing this new leader to our church.
