A servant of Jesus Christ and a laborer of His love, greetings and praise to God for eternal word. My name is Theo Wheeler. My wife Lisa and I have three boys, Alex, Zach and Caban. We were born and raised in Syracuse and have now lived in Penfield for nine years. Our move was God’s design, yet we thought it was because of our Wedding Publication Business. We have been attending Browncroft for five years, and have been members for most of that time. We serve our God through leading a Community Group every week, Flower City Workcamp, and Children’s ministry. We are currently working on organizing an Adoption Ministry.

 

 

 

Wow! Like Abraham, Jephthah is in the worst position a parent could ever find themselves. How could anyone give up their child, even for God. At first glance it is impossible, but after realizing our connection with the Lord, and His promise of  eternal life, this temporary life is not as significant. 

This promise Jephthah made to God is interesting. I wonder what he was thinking would come out of his house to be sacrificed, and was it worth the risk. We should always think before we speak and make promises without considering the results of what may come. What I find the most amazing part of this scripture is the faith and commitment to the Lord of his daughter. How powerful is the faith of this little one.
