The study guides its readers to this communication with God by encouraging silence, the preparation of one's heart and mind, the reading and meditation upon the text, prayer, contemplation, and application of truth. This guide is appropriate primarily for individuals but also may be used by groups who desire a more contemplative approach to encountering God through the Bible.
