Our mission is to partner with parents in the total development of their children by providing active learning experiences and socialization in a warm and secure Christian environment.

Our nurturing environment encourages each child to grow at their own pace as they develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, intellectually and creatively. The teachers give thoughtful guidance and positive direction to help each child develop a healthy self-image, independence, cooperative play skills, and gain knowledge of God’s world around them. Children are exposed to God’s love, Bible stories and Christian values.

Children learn best through play, and play is the underlying approach to our classroom. Activities are designed to foster learning through discovery, exploration, observation, and experimentation. Our teachers also nurture the children’s social skills and help develop their communication skills. A well planned curriculum also encourages cognitive development and critical thinking skills. Age-appropriate academics are integrated into the program as we seek to lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

A partnership with parents is formed to develop positive relationships, a sense of security, and knowledge that their child is respected, loved, and well cared for. This partnership also encourages parental involvement in our program. Our friendly, flexible atmosphere will ease your child’s transition from home to school.

The Browncroft Discovery Preschool is part of the Family Ministry of Browncroft Community Church. Established in 1985, the school is a non-profit, half-day program operated as a service to both the residents of the Rochester area and the church family.

The teaching staff consists of well-qualified professionals with college degrees and many years of classroom experience in early childhood education. All teachers have emergency and CPR certification.

The preschool has a membership in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

The Browncroft Discovery Preschool is located in the education wing of the church facility. The classrooms were designed and furnished for preschool children with adequate space for group or individual activities and play centers. There is a full-size indoor gym and a large enclosed outdoor play area in the courtyard. A security system is in place for the entire building which also includes hallway security cameras and video-voice confirmed access at all entrances. Each classroom has its own bathroom and is equipped with smoke detectors, fire alarm and telephone.

We recognize that parents hold the primary responsibility for their child’s educational development. Therefore, we encourage open communications between and teachers.
