The goal of this talk is to provide a factual and balanced framework to help parents better understand and discuss matters of gender along with sexual: attraction, development, expression identity and orientation.


Robyn Englert, LCSW-R is a therapist in private practice. She has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Roberts Wesleyan College. She has worked as a therapist at St. Mary's Outpatient Clinic (now merged with Rochester Regional Health), Agape Counseling Associates, and Roberts Wesleyan College Counseling Center. In addition to her role as a therapist, Robyn has also been an adjunct professor at Roberts Wesleyan College, facilitated the group Everyday Matters with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Rochester, NY, and led workshops on various topics ranging from adolescent depression and anxiety symptoms to Prepare-Enrich marriage inventory.


Dr. Joyce Wagner holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Roberts Wesleyan College, a Master of Higher Education Administration (MA) from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. Dr. Wagner has served on staff with Agap√© Counseling Associates, Crestwood Children’s Center, Catholic Family Center and Roberts Wesleyan College. Since 2011 Dr. Wagner has owned her own private practice – Restoration Counseling of Rochester. In this role she counsels children, young adults and adults dealing with a variety of personal challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, sexuality issues and past trauma, etc. She is also a respected speaker, professor and clinical supervisor for the greater Rochester area.
