What is hope for hurting parents?
Hope for Hurting Parents is a peer-to-peer support group for parents of teenage and adult children whose lives are far from God. The group will be a safe place to process feelings, discover new strategies, and find encouragement with others who share similar pain.
We may have spiritually invested in our children in their formative years. Yet as they became independent, they did not follow the path of faith we as parents intended for them. We may have a good relationship with them, but they have little or no relationship with God. Their lives do not reflect the faith we sought to instill in them.
In this group we will offer unconditional acceptance of each other by listening, empathizing, and praying for each other. Participation is voluntary with no embarrassment or judgment as we share our situations and discuss the focused topic of the session. The desire is to offer a safe, confidential, accepting and nurturing environment for parents whose children are not walking with the Lord.
Participants will meet virtually on Zoom on the first Sunday of every month at 7:00 pm starting May 2, 2021. Once registered, you will be emailed a Zoom invitation every month prior to our gathering. We may choose to meet in person at a later date, perhaps outdoors in warmer weather.
