Brewing Up Changes at the Browncroft Coffee Bar

At Browncroft, the Coffee Bar is about much more than coffee. It’s a place where friendships are formed, conversations happen, and our church family can connect and grow in community. Operated entirely by Browncroft volunteers, the Coffee Bar is one way we seek to serve Jesus by serving others. Each cup of coffee, specialty drink, and act of hospitality is an expression of care from people who desire to make Browncroft a welcoming place where fellowship and relationships can flourish.

Did you know that it takes five volunteers to run the coffee bar each week? It starts with a cup and ends with a hand-crafted drink made by our Barista Team. There are times, however, when we have to limit what we are able to serve as we are sometimes short-staffed with volunteers. Just this past Sunday we had to pivot and limit the number of drinks after the 10:30 service as there were not enough volunteers on deck. Our customers were so gracious and understanding.  It was one of the best days in the coffee bar because God was in the story, in the moments, and showed up when it was less than perfect. We ask for your continual understanding if we need to limit our menu to give the best possible service to you, our customers. We will notify you of these changes using the sandwich board and the menu options on the counter.

Coffee Bar updates…

We also want to let you know of some minor changes coming to the Browncroft Coffee Bar over the next several weeks: We are planning to offer five core syrup choices and provide more seasonal drink options going forward. Our goal is to give you more variety and keep the menu fresh. We’ll also be supplying individual chocolate milk cartons for younger customers to help keep our line moving. (Hot chocolate will continue to be served, so no worries there!) Additionally, for a trial period, we are moving brewed coffee to self-serve. This will allow our customers who only want brewed coffee, and no other specialty drinks, to simply walk over to the self-serve counter and grab a cup of coffee.

These are just a few of the adaptations you will notice this fall and winter. We thank you for your support these past several years. Your generosity through donations helps us to continue running the Coffee Bar, and your kudos and compliments go a long way for each of our volunteers. We look forward to continuing to give you excellent service as we serve you each week and create a space in the general cafe area where community and connection take place!
