Don’t Miss Out on Rooted

This past fall I had the pleasure of leading a Rooted cohort of fellow young adults. I still remember Peter Englert praying over my group at our very first meeting in September. Little did I know that day that the strangers sitting at my table would become some of my closest friends in just ten weeks. 

Let’s rewind a little bit. What is Rooted? It’s a ten-week small group experience walking through seven different rhythms to help you grow in your faith and live it out in community with others. These rhythms include prayer, daily devotion, repentance, sharing your story, worship, serving the community, and sacrificial generosity. Whether you’re a new Christian, new to church, or someone who’s been following Jesus for decades, if you choose to invest in this program, you will benefit spiritually and come away with live-giving friendships. Many groups even continue meeting after the ten weeks are over, so it’s a great first step if you want to get connected to a long-term small group!

Rooted has pushed me to hold myself accountable, open my heart more, and be more vulnerable with those around me.

Personally, I’ve experienced Rooted twice–first as a member and then as a leader. Although being young and having faith in this world can be hard, being part of a group of likeminded young adults who want to grow in their faith together makes being a Christian easier. Rooted has pushed me to hold myself accountable, open my heart more, and be more vulnerable with those around me. I’ve had the chance to come to know individuals who were once just faces in a crowd, but then, by God’s guiding hand, became my true friends when He placed us in the same group.

If you feel God calling you to sign up for Rooted this session, don’t decline that call; sign up! This is a worthwhile opportunity to deepen and grow your faith with others, just as God intended, as members and children of His body.
