Happy Thursday, Browncroft! We hope you’re having a good start to your year and enjoying (or tolerating) this snowy weather. We have a lot of exciting events coming up in the next several weeks we’d love to have you join us for. Today we want to specifically highlight our men’s event happening tomorrow, Friday, January 17th, as well as our women’s event next Saturday, January 25th. We figured there were no better people to tell you more about these opportunities and our motive behind them than those who have been working hard to put them together! So, without further ado, please check out these words from Peter Englert and Tricia Yoder:
Browncroft Men
At Browncroft we want to help people connect with God and others in authentic relationships. This has always been the goal of Jesus and His church, but we face a unique challenge in this cultural moment. The Surgeon General last year reported that “loneliness is the greatest epidemic of our time.” In a time of emotional, spiritual, and often familial disconnectedness, we need the brotherhood of Christ more than ever. To bring some healing here, Browncroft seeks to present opportunities and spaces to bring the men of our community together. As we say, you were never meant to live life alone.

Join the Browncroft Men for an exciting evening of Basketball and Board Games this Friday, January 17th, starting at 7pm! This drop-in event promises a great mix of friendly competition and opportunity for community for anyone. Whether you’re a board game enthusiast or a basketball fan, there’s something for everybody. Looking forward to seeing you there. Register now here!

Browncroft Women
Speaking of connecting… Ladies, I am excited to invite you to our Chilled and Filled event happening on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00am – 12:00pm. It may be chilly outside, but we will get filled up physically, emotionally, and spiritually as we spend time connecting with one another. Our event will include interactive sessions with Danelle Edwards, a Wellness Director for Rochester Regional Health, Kristen Ferri, a Counselor with Renew Mental Health, and Christina Neitz, one of our Elders. Psalm 23:5 tell us “You (God) anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” You don’t want to miss out on this relaxing and meaningful morning as we focus on how God wants to fill our hearts and minds, and how we in turn can fill the hearts and minds of others.

We also have an opportunity to give back to our community. There will be a donation box set up where we will be collecting undergarments and socks for the Rochester Family Mission. Donations can be for either males or females. So, ladies, let’s fill that box!
Be sure to register here by Wednesday, January 22nd. The cost to attend is $10. This includes light refreshments and a cup of vegetarian chili. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring a friend. We can’t wait to see you on the 25th!
