Find Your Role In Reaching The World

October 14, 2021

Prepared in advance.

Those words stuck with me when Pastor Rob spoke a couple Sundays ago about our Browncroft spiritual habit — Know & Use Your Gifts. He highlighted Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

All of us are gifted. All of us are called.

Those “good works” aren’t just serving on a mission trip or working “in ministry.” Every person has been designed with purposes and skills to do Kingdom work.

And that is the theme for this coming annual Global Outreach Experience!

Starting Sunday (October 17) we will begin a weeklong conference called Designed: Finding Your Role in Reaching the World. We have all been designed by God to do good works that He has planned for us. Now it is our job to find what that role is!

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Make sure you are at church on Sunday as we begin Designed with Guitars for Glory leading worship and Steve Harling, president of Compel Global, delivering the message. There will also be an opportunity after both services in the café to meet with some of the outreach partners visiting with us. It will be a great morning to kick off the conference!

All week we’ll be blessed by the involvement of outreach partners including:

  • Corey & Katie Garrett (SIM-Senegal)
  • Joanna Beske (Pioneers)
  • Mala Malstead (Freedom Firm)
  • Michael Hennessy (Youth for Christ)
  • Ken Pitcher (World Relief Western NY)
  • Barbara Thomas & Warren Meeks (Rochester Family Mission)
  • John & Laura Iamaio (Cru)
  • JJ & Steve Harling (Compel Global)
  • John Spadafora (Crossworld), and
  • Megan Aguilar & Hannah Snelling (Go on the Mission)

Among the numerous events of the week (find the full schedule here), one I am especially excited for is the women’s event on Tuesday night. We’ll be joined by Katie Garrett, Joanna Beske, Barbara Thomas and Mala Malstead. They will all share their stories about how they found their own roles in reaching the world. All of these women have followed the call God placed on each of their lives and have done incredible work for the Kingdom! Oh and there will be Cheesy Eddies desserts… the best!

Another event not to miss is Thursday night’s presentation with John Spadafora on “A Vision for our Every Day.” John will be talking about God’s perspective on our everyday work, and how we are all called to be Kingdom builders wherever we spend our 9-5. No Cheesy Eddies, but definitely very much worth your time!

This will be a week filled with great presentations and stories from our partners that I know will encourage your heart and mine. Be sure to find the full schedule and sign up for events by clicking the button below. See you there!

Christmas Is for Everyone

What I love most about Christmas music is its unerring ability to put me in the true Christmas spirit. When I listen to it, particularly the biblical songs, I’m able to just be in the moment and stop stressing about everything that needs to be done by December 24th. That’s why I’m so excited that this Sunday we are having a special Scripture and Carols service to commemorate the season.
