We’re proud to introduce our speakers for this year’s Spiritual Formation Conference on March 14th! Read a bit about them below and consider which of their sessions you might like to attend. We’re grateful to these Browncroft staff, volunteers, and friends for making the time to share about such important topics to help us discover our God-given purpose. Keynote (8:30 – 9:20am)
Wally Fleming (Life on Purpose)
Wally Fleming, longtime pastor and professor, is looking forward to serving as our keynote speaker at this year’s Spiritual Formation Conference. Some of his favorite recent fictional reads are Fredrik Backman’s My Friends, The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, and Wallace Stegner’s Crossing to Safety. Wally has been engaged in a partnership with development and education projects in Rwanda. He has endless photos to show those who want to hear more about his trips to Rwanda… you have been warned! He still listens to the Moody Blues and considers corner tables in coffee shops to be one of God’s gifts to our world. He is still celebrating that he won the “Fire Prevention Coloring Contest” in his fourth grade class.
Session 1: Purpose (9:30-10:15am)
Rob Cattalani (Purpose in Singleness)
Rob was born and raised in Rochester but had the opportunity to travel the world for a number of years as a missions pastor and missionary before becoming the Senior Pastor of Browncroft. His greatest privilege and joy as a pastor is to read, study, and teach God’s Word. He continues to enjoy travel and doing most anything outdoors – hiking, biking, skiing, and walking the beach. He also enjoys good books, good conversation, and meeting new people.
Greg Ray (Purpose in Work)
Greg brings together three decades of leadership across the U.S. Navy, global ministry, and the aerospace industry. As an aerospace executive and founder of Christian Leaders Forum, a peer community for Christian leaders, he works at the intersection of marketplace excellence and spiritual formation. His driving conviction is that the workplace is a mission field, and that leaders anchored in Christ are empowered to build organizations that thrive, people who flourish, and legacies that echo into eternity.
Adele and David Bovard (Purpose in Retirement)
David and Adele have been happily married for 45 years and have four adult children. Both retired from senior leadership roles and prayerfully made the transition to retirement, seeking God and His purpose. David retired from Federal United States Probation and Parole as Deputy Chief of the Western Region in 2014. Adele stayed home raising their four children before she returned to teaching and retired in 2020 after serving several districts as Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent.
Mike and Michelle Weston (Purpose in Parenting)
Mike and Michelle have been married for 20 years and are the parents of three (16, 14, & 11). Michelle has extensive experience in child development and elementary education as a teacher and reading specialist. Mike currently serves as the Executive Director of a faith-based community clinic in Rochester’s underserved community. Together they have served families through their roles as Preschool Director (Michelle) and the Director of Kids Ministry (Mike) at a local church. They’ve also served as volunteer chaplains for both of Rochester’s professional sports teams.
Rich Christman (Why Do I Even Exist?)
Rich Christman is the Creative & Communications Director at Browncroft, as well as one of the co-leaders of the Forefront Artist Circle in Rochester. He has a wife and three-year-old son. He likes conversations over wings with chunky bleu cheese.

Session 2: Practice (10:30-11:15am)
Kelly Fasoldt (Practice with the End in Mind)
Kelly Fasoldt is the Outreach Director at Browncroft Community Church and holds a Master’s in Transformational Leadership from Northeastern Seminary. Kelly’s passion is to further the gospel, the great news of Jesus Christ that heals all of our brokenness and fulfills our secret longing. Understanding the mission of Jesus has underscored the importance of loving others and serving the marginalized. She and her husband, Tom, have five adult children, two daughters-in-law, and two grandchildren. Drinking coffee and sharing stories are some of her favorite pastimes.
Joyce Wagner (Practice Healing)
Joyce Wagner Ph.D., LCSW-R is the owner of Restoration Counseling of Rochester, pllc (www.restorationcor.com) and has been a therapist for 25+ years. Joyce’s passion in counseling is the integration of psychology and Christian beliefs – she places a high value on being authentic, maintaining a sense of humor, and cultivating gratitude.
Peter Englert (Practice Priority)
Peter Englert is the Adult Ministries Director at Browncroft Community Church. He graduated from the University of Valley Forge with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry and an M.A. in Theology. He also blogs at peterenglert.com
Sarah Etsler and Misty Boldt (Practice Your Core Values)
Sarah Etsler is Browncroft’s Director for Congregational Care. She is a former HR professional and brings with her a passion for equipping others to live out who God created them to be, building healthy teams, and for helping to care for those in need.
Misty Boldt, LMSW is a therapist with Renew Hope and Healing. She is a wife of 20 years and a mother of two teenage boys, aged 17 and 19. Misty is a small group leader at Browncroft for the 2nd grade and is a small group coach in Family Ministry.
Kimberley Wiedefeld (Practice Your Identity)
Kimberley Wiedefeld serves as a vice president with FaithSearch Partners, partnering with mission-driven organizations and leaders during seasons of discernment and transition. She brings more than twenty years of experience in Christian higher education and nonprofit leadership, shaped by a commitment to vocation, formation, and faithful leadership. Kimberley and her family have been part of the Browncroft community for over ten years and are grateful for the people who have walked alongside them. She is the wife of John Mark and a mom of three – roles that continue to shape how she understands identity, calling, and daily faithfulness.

Session 3: Prayer (11:30am-12:15pm)
Deanna Kustas (Prayer and Reflection)
Deanna has been with the ministry of Cru for over 18 years. Born and raised in Fairport, she returned to Rochester at the end of 2023 to launch Cru City Neighbors. In partnership with the local church, her ministry exists to help people find their place in God’s story, experience life-changing discipleship, and reflect Jesus for the good of the community. She has a heart to equip the body of Christ to walk alongside those struggling with or deconstructing their faith. Deanna enjoys being an auntie to two nephews, coffee shops, national parks, other people’s dogs, and laughing with good friends.
Trisha Smith (Family Prayer and Reflection – Parents and Kids)
With over two decades of experience in Family Ministry leadership, Trisha Smith is committed to helping the next generation know and follow Jesus. Her heart is to empower parents and church leaders to partner together in intentional discipleship that lasts beyond childhood. Trisha and her husband, Donnie, are the proud parents of three adult daughters and grandparents to two beautiful grandchildren. Their family is one of their greatest joys and a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness.

Kids Track (All Morning)
Alex Welker (Kids Session 1; 9:30 – 10:15am)
Alex is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where kids and families can encounter Jesus. With a background in elementary and special education and experience leading children’s and inclusion ministries, Alex
equips volunteers, develops curriculum, and designs events that engage kids of all abilities. Alex also loves serving others and finding creative ways to make church welcoming for everyone.
Stephanie Meunier (Kids Session 2; 10:30 – 11:15am)
Stephanie is Browncroft’s Family Ministry Kids Director. She has been dedicated to creating nurturing and educational environments that promote children’s growth. She homeschooled her own three children from
preschool through high school, with all of them graduating from college and thriving in their respective careers. When she is not at Browncroft she enjoys reading, snowboarding, and motorcycle riding.
