I’ve been spending a lot of time dreaming lately. I imagine ways to encourage, inspire, and equip our church community members in our calling to share the Gospel in our neighborhoods, our communities, and around the world. This has been on my mind especially over the past several months because our annual outreach experience, “Send Me,” begins on October 29!
“Send Me” is a three-week series of interactive events bookended by Sunday services. Over these weeks Browncroft will host over 24 of our local and international ministry partners, which span four continents. There will be 13 large gatherings, at least 17 small group gatherings, and multiple short-term outreach interest meetings.
This conference will offer service opportunities for kids, students, women, men, seniors, families, and the entire congregation. Each Sunday our ministry partners who are present will have a table in the lobby where they hope to meet many of you and share through personal conversations more details about their ministries.
What is the point of this conference? The primary purpose is to help us as individuals and as a community respond to our personal and collective calling to share the Gospel — the great news of Jesus Christ, which can heal all of our brokenness and fulfill our deepest longings. We obey this call in various ways — by praying, by giving of ourselves and our resources, and by going to our neighbor, our schools, our city, and maybe even across the world.
My heart’s desire is to see the message of the Gospel and its power fill the world in every sphere of life — beginning with my own life. Do you share that desire or at least find it intriguing? I invite you to enter in to see God’s powerful work and hear how He is calling us. Please explore the “Send Me” webpage, and make plans to experience this year’s concentrated focus on outreach.
