Let’s Have A Blast

December 9, 2021

What is Browncroft known for in our community? This is a question that has become increasingly important to me over the years. And it has inspired my passion to be the church beyond the walls of our building.

This is why I am so excited about Penfield Christmas Blast this Saturday, December 11.  It’s a going to be a fun (and FREE) event featuring music, hot cocoa, crafts, decorating cookies, horse drawn wagon rides, and more! Even better — it’s being organized as a partnership between our church and the Town of Penfield Recreation Department.

This actually started as a follow-up to our work alongside the town this summer. You might remember our participation in the Independence Day parade and our outdoor service that weekend as highlights from that time. Well, when we met after that with the Penfield Recreation staff to see what Christmas opportunities might exist, we were very excited when they invited us to partner with them on an event they already had on the schedule!

So what’s the goal? It’s not to preach or to tout Browncroft. Of course we hope that our neighbors will be curious about who we are and why we’re there. Certainly we would love them to check our ministries out — maybe even visit on Christmas Eve.

But the agenda for Saturday is much simpler. We just want to have a lot of fun! We want our community to know that we love them… that Browncroft is FOR them. And so is the One who loves us and gives us hope in this special season.

Now what can you do? Please come… and… INVITE others.

Invite your family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers. Some who might not come to our campus would happily accept an invitation to a super fun event like this.

After all, who doesn’t love horse drawn wagon rides, hot cocoa, and a mechanical reindeer?

See you Saturday!
