“In His great mercy He has given us new birth.” 1 Peter 1:3

It’s hard to imagine a more sweeping concept to talk about what it means to be a Christian than a new birth. It not only brings a conversion of the heart but a conversion of the imagination—a new way of seeing things, knowing things, and doing things. A new birth means entrance into a new order of existence. One where God is your Father, the Spirit is your daily guide, and Jesus is your Savior and Lord. Jesus is God’s only son by nature. All others who hold this title are God’s sons and daughters by grace and forgiveness. In the Resurrection, God has given us a new life.
