Starting in late September, Browncroft will be hosting the Alpha course, which is an exciting opportunity for anyone to explore spirituality and learn more about the meaning of life from a Christian perspective. Alpha is a very popular program that has been viewed by more than 30 million people in over 169 countries. Relaxed, low-key, and fun, Alpha is a place to ask anything– no question is considered too simple or off-limits.
We have been directing an Alpha course for the last 10 years and have seen the significant impact that occurs in guests who attend. Both non-Christians and Christians have been enlightened and amazed by learning more about Jesus and the Christian faith. They’ve been delighted to discover the positive impacts He brings to their lives as they go on to develop a wonderful personal relationship with Him. It’s been life-changing for many!

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then Alpha is for you.
Each session begins with a free catered meal and refreshments. Guests watch a video on a different subject each week followed by a small group discussion designed to inspire conversation. Everyone is free to share what they think or feel about the subject presented. Each talk explores a fundamental question such as: Who is Jesus? How Can We Have Faith? Who is the Holy Spirit? How Does God Guide Us? …plus several other thought-inspiring subjects. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly, and open environment.
Anyone is welcome at an Alpha course, regardless of their background or beliefs! Some people want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life. Some are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds and hold many different viewpoints, but most come with the same basic objective– to establish or better understand whether God and Jesus Christ have any real relevance to their lives.

This round of Alpha will consist of eight sessions conducted here at Browncroft on Monday evenings from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Our first meeting will take place on September 23rd, and we’ll wrap up the course on November 11th. We encourage you to attend all of the sessions to learn as much as possible, however, please feel free to attend as many weeks as you can.
