Your Voice Matters: Take the NextStep for Church Assessment Closing June 21

Browncroft Family–

In recent months we have focused on Ephesians 2:10 as a central verse guiding the vision of our church. It serves as a reminder that we are created with a God-ordained purpose in our lives. Browncroft values listening carefully to God and to one another as we collectively discern that purpose and seek His leading and direction as a church body.

Over the past few years, we have sought out the feedback of staff and volunteer leaders and have created unique opportunities for their voices to be heard. One of the tools we introduced last year that has helped us do this well is the NextStep for Church Assessment from the American Bible Society.

Some of you may remember taking the “REVEAL Survey” several times in the past, which Browncroft utilized as a valuable resource a handful of years ago. The NextStep for Church Assessment is similar in many ways. It builds on the same heart—helping churches understand where people are growing spiritually and where God may be inviting us to take the next step.

Last year, 324 individuals from our church participated in the NextStep assessment. The results played a meaningful role in:

  • Our broader vision work
  • Shaping the direction of small groups
  • Influencing the theme and content of the annual Spiritual Formation Conference

Because of the clarity and insight it provided, we are leaning into this assessment even more intentionally this year. As we prepare for the next phase of Browncroft’s vision, the findings from this in-depth survey (open now through this Sunday, June 21) will be used at many levels of leadership within our church:

  • The Executive Staff will process the results for our vision work and ministry focus
  • Our Elders will prayerfully review and discern the results
  • Church leaders will use the insights to shape discipleship, formation, and planning in the year ahead

In short, the results will have direct impact on how we steward our ministries and move forward together. We have a goal of 700 individuals from Browncroft completing the assessment.  So far, we have just over 300 completed surveys — would you partner with us by taking the assessment?

It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. The timing is due to the holistic nature of the assessment. Your participation truly matters.

We also encourage you to:

  • Share the link with your small group
  • Pass it along to family or friends from Browncroft
  • Invite others who call Browncroft their home church to take part

Thank you for being a church who listens, prays, and steps forward together. We are grateful for the ways God continues to shape our community—and for your willingness to be part of that work.

With gratitude and hope,

Jason Harris
Executive Pastor
