April 2026
Over the past nine months, our Elder Board and Staff have been engaged in focused leadership reflection and development, taking a careful look at our leadership culture, how we relate to one another, and how we together pursue the mission God has given us.
All of us are important to this effort. We can see both the many strengths God has built into this body and the areas where growth is still needed. Yet underneath both is a deeper reality: God is at work in us, individually and together, forming us into the kind of people and church that reflect His purpose.
Scripture gives us a steady anchor as we consider our partnership in the gospel. In Philippians 1:6, Paul writes:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
This promise reminds us that our growth is not random, rather it is purposeful. God is actively shaping, refining, and forming us over time. This begins in each of us and extends to our entire church community.
Transformation is not quick, but we are committed to this process with humility, dependence, and hope.
That kind of transformation is often not comfortable. In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis describes God’s activity in us like rebuilding a house: at first making small repairs, but eventually reshaping the entire structure into something far greater than we imagined. It can feel disruptive, but it is always intentional. God’s aim is not simply to improve us, but to remake us.
As we shared at our recent Leadership Dialogue last Tuesday, April 21st, the leadership transformation underway is aimed directly at this purpose—clarifying roles, strengthening how we handle conflict, and fostering a culture marked by both care and accountability.
We are committed to providing thoughtful oversight, supporting our pastors and staff, addressing conflict, and cultivating a healthy and sustainable leadership culture. Transformation is not quick, but we are committed to this process with humility, dependence, and hope.
Your Participation Is Critical
This is not only a leadership effort; it is something we share as a church. Church transformation ultimately grows out of moment-by-moment decisions in each of our lives, which then shape our life together as a community.
We are grateful for Browncroft and for the many who are engaging with prayer, honesty, and a desire to move forward together as God continues His purposeful work in and through us.
Specifically, we encourage you to:
· Pursue God personally, surrendering to His transforming work in your own life
· Pray for our staff and leaders, for increasing unity, wisdom, and strength
· Pray for and encourage Pastor Rob during his sabbatical—for renewal, growth, and fresh vision
· Communicate with the Elders, sharing your concerns and perspectives (You can find members and contact information on our website.)
There is so much potential ahead, beyond what we can “ask or imagine” (Eph. 3:20). As we yield to Him, we trust He will shape us into a church marked by real unity, deep trust, and visible love, bearing fruit that reflects His character and brings Him glory.
