An invitation to participate in what Christ is doing
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland…”, said God to the Prophet Isaiah. Praise God that we live in this time where that stream has sprung up. A Light has dawned in the darkness! As we near the end of this year’s season of Advent, we want to warmly invite you, your friends, and your family to celebrate the season with us in our Christmas Eve services. On Tuesday, December 23rd at 7:00 PM and Wednesday, December 24th at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 PM, our church family will gather to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We would love to welcome you and yours to the table.
This year’s Christmas services are the climax of our Advent sermon series on “A Holy Family”. Over the past several weeks, we have intentionally focused on the human family of Jesus (those whom Scripture calls by name as His earthly father, mother, aunt, uncle, and cousin) and explored what their lives teach us about holy fatherhood, motherhood, and brotherhood in our own families, biological and found.
On Christmas Eve, however, we will shift our gaze from the human family around Jesus to Jesus Himself: the promised Messiah who came to earth — fully God and fully human — as the perfect model, a spotless sacrifice, and a victorious, righteous ruler. In these services we will celebrate His coming with worship and reflection on what it means for us that God Himself entered our world.

We’re inviting you not only to come, but especially in this time, to reach out to someone you care about and invite them too. A recent survey from Lifeway Research found that while only 47% of Americans say they typically attend church during the Christmas season, a striking 56% of those who don’t attend say they would be likely to come if someone they know invited them to a service (Lifeway Research). This means a simple, personal invitation might be the very thing that brings someone into a life-changing encounter with the living Savior.
So please. bring a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member. Share with them what it is like to be in the family of Jesus, and why Christmas matters. We believe God is at work in a unique way this season, and many around us may simply be waiting for a friendly invitation.
For the last several weeks, we’ve been extending our proverbial table as a church community — welcoming, worshipping, praying, studying God’s Word, and meeting community needs together across three services. On December 23rd and 24th, pray with us that God will fill every seat on Christmas Eve for His glory.
Two final thoughts:
- You can see more at browncroft.org/christmas, including a link to let us know when you are coming in order to help us prep the most joyful experience for you. Kids programming will be available for Babies – PreK at all three services on the 24th. (Elementary schoolers are invited to join their families in service!)
- Red Christmas Eve invitation cards will be in the lobby this week and next to give you a leg-up in inviting others.
We can’t wait to see you as we celebrate the greatest gift ever given.
